Nikon Z50 Test

Nikon dived into the market for mirrorless cameras even with the 1 ″ sensor Nikon 1 system, in 2011. This system, with its sensor size of less than 4/3 of the micro, made it possible to develop really small machines and lenses. Despite the ample range of lenses, the Nikon 1 system has not been able to gain a foothold among (hobby) photographers, so unfortunately the Japanese manufacturer finally took it out of its product range last year.

Last year, the Japanese manufacturer launched a new full-frame sensor system. However, the already familiar Z system is not only good for a full-frame sensor. It has also given Nikon the opportunity to test itself with an APS-C (correctly DX size) sensor in the mirrorless machine market.
So the first APS-C sensor Nikon MILC, the Z 50, has arrived.

Key features of the Nikon Z 50:

electronic lock instead of front shutter or full electronic lock
auto exposure and focus sequences
HDR photography
correction of optical defects (vignetting, distortion)
3840 × 2160 pixel video recording (30, 25, 24 fps) or 1920 × 1080 pixels (24, 25, 30, 50, 60, 100, 120 fps), max. Up to 4 GB, respectively. for half an hour
slow-motion capability in FullHD resolution

Autofocus: 209-point hybrid (phase difference and contrast based), intelligent eye detection algorithm
built-in pop-up flash
SD / SDHC / SDXC UHS-I memory card slot (for one card)

SnapBridge support: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, image transfer and remote release
EN-EL25 Li-ion battery (320 image capacity according to CIPA measurement)
Micro USB2.0 and micro HDMI connectors, microphone input
